DESCRIPTION:

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP) is an organization trying to do for modern music what this Catalogue is trying to do for philanthropy: reach out to new audiences, and broaden the horizons of existing audiences. Since it's founding in 1995, they have had an outstanding trajectory. Now in their 10th complete concert season, BMOP's audiences have tripled, their budget multiplied sevenfold, staff grown from seven part-time volunteers to four full-time professionals and one part-time volunteer. They have won: eight ASCAP Awards for Adverturous Programming of Orchestral Music; the Boston Globe and The New York Times Best CDs of 2003; and a Chicago Tribune Best CDs of 2004. Go, BMOP!
