Re-Vision House CONTACT:38 Fabyan Street Dorchester, MA 02124 617-825-8642 Yvonne Miller-Booker, Executive Director
DESCRIPTION:Re-Vision House was founded in 1989 by Yvonne Miller-Booker and a few neighbors who were troubled by the growing number of teen mothers, the rise in infant mortality and the lack of structured programs serving pregnant and parenting youths. Miller-Booker recruited community members to form a benefit organization for homeless teen mothers and their children, providing them with opportunities to set and achieve positive long-range goals. Re-Vision House opened its doors to 10 families in 1990. Families stay an average of nine months. In 1996 they added the Lillie B. Miller House, providing up to 24 months of stable housing for 10 more families in a shared apartment setting for those ready for more independent living. Repairing lives is slow and difficult work, and it often takes time to see the results. Program development is where the leverage is greatest. That is what your donations will support.
