Eldercare works to support and keep frail elders in their own homes. Sometimes this is as simple as sending a volunteer into the home to pay monthly bills. More frequently an elder's needs are far more complex, with help required to bathe, dress, cook, clean and help travel to and from the doctor' s office. Our aging population increases the demand for this kind of care and comfort from home care agencies. The Eldercare Alliance was created in 1995 by three Boston home care agencies: Boston Senior Home Care, Central Boston Elder Services, and Ethos. Together they serve more than 7,000 clients annually. Eldercare seeks to obtain new sources of funds to expand the agencies' existing services and to create new services for elders' unmet needs -- the better to care for those who cared for us.
