DESCRIPTION:

The Lower Cape Cod Community Development Corporation is dedicated to economic development and housing for residents of eight towns: Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown. Their "Business Builders" program provides in-depth training to small businesses, ranging from retailers to landscapers, from artisans to professionals, to develop business plans and grow their businesses. A MicroLoan program has provided financing where bank loans were unavailable. A Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program works with private property owners to improve substandard housing for renters and owners who are income eligible. As a developer of affordable housing, the CDC continues to increase the number of properties it owns and manages — currently 34 units between Harwich and Provincetown. In short, this is a catalyst that works; it — and Lower Cape residents — can well use your help.
