Rogerson Communities
Since 1860, Rogerson Communities has provided housing and health care for seniors and low-income people. It has earned a reputation for excellent management. It has created a network of affordable housing and services for seniors, the working poor, and persons with disabilities including HIV/AIDS. It has developed over 500 units of affordable housing, and today manages 908 units. Rogerson also manages a 31-bed rest home and nursing facility for an independent non-profit corporation, operates two adult day health care programs which serve more than 250 frail or cognitively impaired elders each week, and offers consulting services to colleague benefit agencies. Since 1999, it has presented a biennial Alzheimer's symposium, attracting more than 200 physicians and caregivers. The Campaign for Rogerson Communities was launched in 2001 to increase its capacity to develop and operate affordable housing and ancillary services as community demands call for them. This campaign also supports Rogerson's wellness initiative to improve elders' abilities to perform daily activities. With millions of aging baby boomers soon to need affordable housing, Rogerson enables seniors to age in their own homes and communities, nurturing and reinforcing individual dignity, responsibility and independence.
