DESCRIPTION:For more than 25 years, the Center for Ecological Technology (Cat. '99) has been a leading voice for, and developer of, programs for recycling and waste management, energy conservation and efficiency, renewable resources and sustainable agriculture.
CET delivers its message and its programs directly to schools, residents and businesses. For example, each year, CET helps over 2,000 homeowners to improve energy efficency (resulting in $350,000 in savings in 2003), and hundreds of businesses to recycle paper and reduce pollution. And its thrift store, ReStore, keeps hundreds of tons of used building materials out of landfills; in 2004, it expects to save customers more than $375,000 in materials costs. CET also works with local communities to ensure that paint, motor oil and other hazardous waste is properly reused, recycled or disposed.
CET is making sustainable progress. They deserve your support. (2001: NATURE: Environment: Energy, Toxics, Waste Recyling)
