Founded in 1987 in Massachusetts, Starlight Children's Foundation serves youngsters in five of the six states (except Connecticut) by providing state-of-the-art "distracting" entertainment, and granting wishes, for children with serious, chronic, or life-threatening illness, who are undergoing painful medical procedures or difficult recoveries. Starlight can't make children well, but it can relieve pain, bring happiness, and restore hope through programs like the Kids Activity Network, which provides outings for sick children and their families, Hospital Happenings in which kids enjoy theme-based parties, Fun Centers and PC Pals (mobile entertainment centers at a child's bedside), and Starlite Sites which are kid-friendly environments within the hospital. Social support, family, community, relaxation, and fun — these are basic things that suffering children and their families simply must have. Won't you help Starlight provide them?
