Romanian Children's Relief CONTACT:11 Latisquama Rd. Southborough, MA 01772 508-303-6299 www.RCR.orgEileen McHenry, Executive Director
DESCRIPTION:RCR was formed in 1990 by a concerned group of New Englanders, in response to a heart-rending
illustrated Boston Globe article about hundreds of Romanian children infected with AIDS and either
orphaned or abandoned to die by their desperate parents. Since then its programs have broadened to include
a wide range of services to children, for which RCR has raised over $2 million from donors in all 50 states
and many foreign countries. In 1998 RCR was also incorporated in Romania, where it cares for over 400
abandoned and institutionalized children and supports professional exchanges between the two countries in
child development, physical and speech therapy, nutritional counseling, and literacy development. These
training programs have helped not only these abandoned and institutionalized children, but childrearing
practices in general. Here is your opportunity to care as well, for this single task, well done. (2003: INTERNATIONAL)
