Tri-City Family Housing
Tri-City Family Housing, one of the largest providers of shelter to homeless families in Massachusetts, was founded in 1986 with a vision of the world in which everybody had a place to call home. A noble vision, certainly, but one that faces overwhelming odds. Tri-City is facing, and conquering those odds every day. Since it was established, Tri-City has grown from sheltering four families each night to a multi-site agency with 50 families in shelters and six families in affordable permanent housing. It has helped close to 1,100 families from Everett, Medford, Revere and Malden since it was established. Recognizing that finding suitable housing if often only half the battle, its “Stabilization Services” provides flexible, personal and practical support for families during and after their move from shelter. Tri-City also offers child and family programs and support, case management and advocacy.
In the fall of 2004, Tri-City opened its Cross Street Housing development, offering affordable housing to 19 homeless families, a live-in caretaker and over 4,000 sq. ft of program and office space. Tri-City is now planning further housing developments for low-income individuals. Please consider helping, as there really is “no place like home.”
