DESCRIPTION:

ARTSouth is a new consortium of 50 South Shore cultural organizations (Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth counties), formed in 2003 to explore joint ventures promoting their mutual success: sharing ideas, coordinating events and scheduling, promoting the arts, and providing professional support to each other. ARTSouth exemplifies the collaborative movement in modern philanthropy since at least the ‘80s: to strive for greater efficiency and productivity through mutual activities and operations, that eliminate needless duplications, achieve economies of scale, and discover new possibilities that would not occur to the participants separately. To succeed, these innovations cannot increase costs to charities; they must reduce costs or it is likely they will evaporate — no one will join. They need their own funding sources, such as individual donors especially interested in highly leveraged investments to an entire field of philanthropy. If you would be interested in supporting the arts community on the South Shore, here is your ideal match.
