Abilities Unlimited of Western New England, Inc.

Abilities Unlimited has a simple premise: all individuals, regardless of ability or disability, are equal, and each individual has something to offer and learn from peers. Kamp for Kids, the group's summer camp program, epitomizes this premise by providing individualized services for developmentally and physically disabled, able-bodied, and socially disadvantaged children with a structured social and recreational summer camp experience. Since its inception, Kamp for Kids' integrated summer education and recreation program day camps have served more than 5,500 culturally, socio-economically, and physically/emotionally diverse children and youth, ranging in age from three to 22 years. It represents the only camp in Western Massachusetts certified by the American Camping Association that provides such services. In April 2003, Camp Togowauk merged with Kamp for Kids; however, the merging and move requires renovation of an existing Togowauk building, and construction of a new building to enable AU to consolidate its administration offices and a number of after-school and family support programs. To get the work done, Abilities Unlimited launched a capital campaign, which is well underway, and needs just $500,000 to complete the project. Here's an opportunity to offer your help, indiscriminately.
