DESCRIPTION:

Here’s a classic case of “If you see something that needs doing, do it!” Dr. Robert Goldman, having witnessed first-hand the lack of quality health services for low-income patients, in 1975 invested his time and $1,500 to launch MSC. With an emphasis on preventative care and treating patients with respect and dignity, the staff now offers health education and screenings to over 10,000 residents annually in 23 communities in Worcester and Middlesex counties. They test for children’s diseases, breast and ovarian cancers, heart disease, diabetes, hearing problems, and much more. Special programs offer pre-employment training and support to at-risk youths who are high-school dropouts, social interaction opportunities between seniors and children, and personal safety training for pre-kindergarten through fourth-grade students. All this on a highly cost-effective annual budget of $200,000. Your investment here will go far.
