Primary Source, Inc.
Formally established in 1989, Primary Source promotes history and humanities education by connecting educators to people and cultures throughout the world. In partnership with teachers, scholars, and the broader community, Primary Source provides learning opportunities and curriculum resources for K-12 educators. By introducing global content, Primary Source shapes the way teachers and students learn, so that their knowledge is deeper and their thinking is more flexible and open to inquiry. Primary Source employs an effective model for increasing global competence among American students so that they will be equipped as adults to live and work in an increasingly competitive international world. By working with school districts to integrate international studies into their curricula through content-rich programming, study travel, and curriculum resource dissemination, Primary Source addresses the professional development needs of teachers while improving the quality of education for thousands of individual students each year. The success of their mission is contingent on the success of four core components - professional development, study travel, curriculum resource dissemination, and district partnerships – that work in concert to enrich the thinking and practice of educators and the students they serve. Please stand behind this excellent approach to improving education in Massachusetts.
