Pro-Choice Massachusetts Foundation is a leader in the effort to improve access to Emergency Contraception (EC), especially for survivors of rape. Founded in 1979, in 2001 they created the Massachusetts Emergency Contraception Network—a coalition today of more than 500 community organizations, medical providers, and government agencies, to improve access to and public awareness of EC. In 2005, thanks to their efforts, An Act to Provide Timely Access to Emergency Contraception became law in Massachusetts.
